Countdown

I can't say it enough... I REALLY miss our house in Colorado!
There are 71 days until Christmas!

I'm so ready to decorate our house for the holidays!  Nothing makes a place feel more like home than when its snowing outside and the Christmas lights are lit and you're drinking something warm with Christmas music in the background.  The only thing that would make that moment better would be a fireplace, which I'm sad to say we don't have here!

We've always managed with just two small trees.  This year though, Jason and I will be on our own for Christmas for the first time ever.  Its not really what we would prefer, but its just how things worked out this year.  I'm hoping to go home in January to visit friends and family, but we feel its prudent to save the cost of a second flight home this year.

That being said, I think its time to upgrade to a full size tree!  Hopefully I can find a good fake one.  Caring for a real tree kind of intimidates me!

I found this Christmas Countdown clock today.  In case you ever want to see how many more days there are!

Last week was a LONG week!  With our move overseas, we had 4 long days of movers.  I'm happy to report, however, that our stuff is out of our possession and somewhere between here and Germany!  Although unfortunately, so are my husband and our cat Olive as of this morning.

Jason & Olive took off this morning for Germany.  They have a very long layover in Baltimore that I'm not jealous of, but after what is sure to be a long 24 hours of travel time, both man and cat will hopefully make it safe and sound!

Our other cat Tip and I will be hanging out in Ohio for 3 weeks due to limited availability with flights.  I'm sad we're not traveling together, but am going to try to take advantage of the next three weeks and just relax, run, walk General, and visit friends/family.

Here's a photo Jason sent me to show me that the new airline approved kennels we had to buy for our trip, fit perfectly under the seat.  Hopefully Olive stays quiet for the duration of the trip!

13 days until we leave Colorado for good.  Only half of which we'll be home for.  I've been trying to savor our house.  I'm going to miss it so much!  Above are the cat carries we had to buy to fit the exact dimensions that the airlines allow.  They're much smaller than I would consider comfortably fitting, but I just don't want to have any issues when traveling!

Well, not everything has gone as planned and I am now well versed in all the woes that go along with trying to take your pet with you overseas, BUT we have flights booked and fingers crossed the rest goes as planned!  We're off on vacation today and I'm so looking forward to not thinking about the move for a bit!

Now to finish packing, brush up on my German, and study for my driving test!

The photos above are some iphone shots from my week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sick Week

Ugh, I've been sick all week.  I thought it was allergies, but it gradually got worse over the course of the week.  We had a snow day earlier in the week, but it has thankfully warmed up again.  I'm hoping that's the last snow I see until the Fall.  It was a busy week, despite feeling under the weather.  I head to FL today to visit family and will be back next week.

Still no update on moving plans, but we're still planning for end of June!  We'll be in Germany for my birthday this year.  I've been trying to think of some thing to see or somewhere to go to celebrate, but haven't come up with anything yet.

Have a great weekend!

I hope you had a good weekend!

Ours was pretty uneventful.  It was thankfully really pretty here and I spent most of the weekend doing stuff around the house.  I took General on a couple well deserved long walks and took myself on a couple runs.

We're still in move limbo - not knowing our exact plans - so I spent some serious time starting to organize our basement into "move" and "storage".  I think its my way of coping with this feeling of having so much to do, but none of it I can just get done.

I have not been doing very well with my German lessons.  Its something I feel like you have to be in the right mood to do and I haven't been very good about doing it lately.  I'm going to do a couple lessons after this post - I promise!

I've been voraciously reading a book that a friend recommended to me.  Its called Fall of Giants by Ken Follett.  It tells a serious of stories surrounding World War I.  It sort of reminds me of Downton Abbey, the way it paints a picture from all angles - plus its during that era.  Its not the type of book I typically read, but I'm glad she recommended it, because I'm really enjoying it.

Its a quiet morning here, but its supposed to snow tonight... grumble grumble.  Hope you have a good rest of your week!
